Our passion at St Luke’s youth is to see young people from inside and out of the church experience God’s love and power, grow as individuals and have a safe place ‘to be’.
We’re a fun and lively group that meet regularly.
Meets on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month for those in school years 7-11. We meet in the church rooms between 7.30 and 9.30pm. Most evenings are spent socialising through football, playing pool, the Wii or chatting and much more.
There are occasional trips out or themed evenings and we have short discussions on faith and there are always plenty of chances to show God’s love and to encourage the youth. The team also includes some older youth, who are encouraged and released into leadership roles.
Meets on the 1st Friday of the month for those between the ages of 16-20. We meet in St. Luke’s House between 7.30 and 9.30pm. We are a small mixed group for those who want to get to know God better and see faith work in real life, no matter how big or small your belief in God is. The evening includes guests, sharing, opening the Bible, what matters to you, prayer and social times.
Mentoring matches older youth, who would like to be involved, with older members of the St Luke’s family. Through encouragement, fun and friendship, the youth learn to grow their faith and are released into the plans that God has for them.
Youth Without Limits at Detling
As a group, we attend the Detling Summer Celebration every August. It’s a good time for getting to know one another better, having a chance to explore the fact there’s a God bigger than we realised who wants to know us. In the mix of all this, we’ve enjoyed some great bands, speakers and laughter!
