Appointment of Vicar at St. Luke’s, Maidstone

Revd. Chris Key

We are delighted to announce that following the recent interviews and with the unanimous approval of the Archdeacon, Area Dean, representatives of the Patrons of St. Luke’s and the Parish representatives, the Revd. Chris Key has accepted the Bishop of Dover’s invitation to be the Vicar of St. Luke’s.

Chris is currently serving as Rector of St. Helen’s Ore with St. Barnabas’ Hastings, and Rural Dean of Hastings and St. Leonards, in the Diocese of Chichester.

He is married to Mary and they have three children aged between 14 and 24.

He lists among his interests taking part in a number of short-term missions to Uganda (6 times), Kenya, Nigeria and Egypt, writing poetry and songs, birdwatching and country walks, reading and taking at least one day each week that has nothing to do with church, to spend with his family.

We are very grateful to everyone who helped with the preparation of the parish profile, all the arrangements for the interview day and for the continuing ministry in and around St. Luke’s during this vacancy and for the next few months.

Please be praying for Chris, Mary and their family as they prepare to move to Maidstone in the early autumn.
